I built a modular grammar to give a particular kind of cold institutional voice physical form. Aero is a display typeface built on a circle-and-square modular grid. Every glyph is constructed from a small set of geometric primitives like rectangular stems, semicircular bowls, sharp diagonal cuts assembled to a strict logic. The grid is visible through the development sketches and disappears in the final vectors, but its DNA stays in the proportions.
The typeface was built to carry a particular voice. The accompanying poster uses Aero as the language of a system check — the cold UI prompt of an operating system asking after your wellness. The typeface's geometry mirrors that voice: clinical, modular, designed to handle anything.
