VESTIGE 

n. — a trace; a remnant of something no longer present. Six garments became one. None of them whole, none of them gone.


The corset is patchwork — olive embroidery, brown lace, batik panels, buttons running vertically down the seam like vertebrae. The skirt sits on the beaded waistband of the brown skirt, ruched into an asymmetric drape on one hip, layered over brown lace and the chartreuse chiffon of the dead green dress.


NOTHING WAS BOUGHT. NOTHING WAS THROWN AWAY.
